Last year, ICD added a very important member to the team with the addition of Chris Fronsoe to their Global Sales & Marketing group. Chris hit the ground running and learned the products, industry, and the players. We caught up with him to get his thoughts on a range of subjects. With an extensive background in sales, has there been anything that has surprised you about the glass and glazing industry?
Chris: Even though there are a plethora of companies vying for their products to become an enduring beautifying expression for building facades, one thing unifies us – glass. It is the aim of all to keep glass as the premier choice for exterior and interior building materials. Because each person in the industry shares this passion, we are ultimately woven together as a tight-knit family. I believe this quality is unique to our industry and am proud to be a part of it.
Let’s talk products- OPACI-COAT 300® is truly an iconic brand, what are the main things you like to tell potential designers and buyers of it?
Chris: OPACI-COAT-300® allows architects and designers to work with a limitless color imagination, all the while feeling confident of the tightest color tolerance on the market. Architects and designers herald OPACI-COAT-300®’s ability to harmonize vision and spandrel glass precisely for a flawless exterior appearance, top to bottom.
ICD’s dedication toward manufacturing products that contain zero or near-zero volatile organic compounds or heavy metals comforts those seeking a more environmentally safe building product. Additionally, architects and designers have the potential to recognize up to six LEED™ points with OPACI-COAT-300®’s use.
Not only does OPACI-COAT-300® present many deliverables, but ICD’s overall customer benefits package includes the most outstanding customer service in the business along with three-day color match and batch orders.
ICD has AquaVue™ as well- that product surely seems to be one that the interior designer would love?
Chris: We created AquaVue™ to meet and exceed the desires of our customer base and the interior design world. Our silicone coating technologies perform fantastically, but AquaVue™’s hybrid blend of coating technologies propels performance to a new benchmark. Tested at 10,000 hours of QUV weather durability and the use ultra-high grade pigments is second to none. I am excited to introduce this product to the market, and end-users will soon experience why.
You started at ICD early in 2015, so we’re slowly but surely coming up on a year. How has the first year been for you and what are you looking forward to in 2016?
Chris: 2015 was an excellent ride for me. I have had the privilege of working with the friendliest customers, co-workers and industry peers. I have been introduced the best and brightest in multiple industries who have taken an active role in my personal and professional growth.
Much like 2015, 2016 is shaping up to be an excellent growth year for the portfolio of ICD’s products worldwide. Our products continue to be well received and I foresee rapid expansion within the coming years – architectural, automotive, appliance and beyond. It will be ICD’s distinct pleasure to help businesses move their coating technology decisions forward.
