The Versatility of OPACI-COAT-300, Silicone Glass Coating

Sometimes I think it’s important to remind the members of our industry (and the non-members) of the versatility of OPACI-COAT-300®.   Let me explain… Most of us are aware that OPACI-COAT-300® is used in an architectural spandrel application, but don’t let your imagination stop there.  We have scores of customers that use OPACI-COAT-300® in a wall cladding application and an equal amount that use it in a kitchen and bathroom back splash application.

One particular job that I was recently involved with was a kitchen remodel in the home of an architect that lives on Mercer Island in Seattle.  The architect chose our Golden Yellow for the counter back splashes and the area behind the gas stove.  The one thing that separated this job for the others was the use of the coated glass in a swinging door.  We used 2 lites of 1/8” that was laminated with an EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) innerlayer for each side of the door which was then in laid into a wood frame.  It looks outstanding!

There are certain parameters that need to be followed when using these applications and I’ll cover some of that in my blog next week. All good stuff…..
