PerformaSil® 100 is a one-component, water-based silicone elastomer (SWBE) designed to serve as a highly versatile binder or base formulation for coatings. It can function either as the sole binder or as a co-resin in formulations, and is ideal for producing ambient-cure or bake-cured coatings. What makes it especially flexible is its suitability across a broad range of applications — including waterproofing, protective coatings, elastomeric coatings, anti-graffiti coatings, air and weather barrier systems, liquid flashing, exterior architectural coatings, and even release agents or textile/leather treatments.
The material offers very strong performance characteristics: it has less than 25 g/L VOC, forms a durable clear film, and delivers high elasticity and strength (roughly 500% elongation and ~500 PSI tensile strength). It bonds well to a wide variety of substrates — such as masonry, concrete, metal, wood, textiles, concrete and stone — which makes it a good fit for both industrial applications and architectural contexts. Because it is water-based, it allows for easier application and cleanup than solvent-based latex or solvent-borne silicones.
